here is the Facebook page post. https://www.facebook.com/AlaskaSpecialt ... =3&theater And as all of our other product, It's 100% salvage too. An added bonus for those that support ending clearccut logging and green tree cutting. Probably not equitable investment for an instrument selling for under $1000 unless one feels, and is in a position to be really charitable! |

Nice - I saw that Tom Ribbecke scored a nice billet or two of that from you. Can't wait to see/hear what he carves out of that! |

yep, we made a deal on one chunk that will yield to very small archtops. We are all very happy and excited. It will be quite some time , a year or longer, before we get to see and hear what Tom does. with it. The wood is still saturated wet. The flat-top acoustic sets are ready to work now. |

So about $10 for the top and $1090 for the back story? Still , that's only about 30 cents a year..... People like a good story - throw in some mammoth ivory fittings and English bog oak for back and sides and capture that ancient (not just vintage) sound. Sincerely, it is a rare item, and I hope you have good luck with the sale! |

I'm thinking that I finished a guitar with one of those tops recently. As I remember, it was really interesting under finish. I'll see if I can dig up a photo. |

Well we actually posted 22 sets of various acoustic guitar booksets. It took me a CRAZY 27 hours to measure, pattern, number, take pics, edit and name pics, Then create the listings, upload the pics and then assign the product pics to each product sku.. Most of the time was waiting for my internet to reconnect to the domain host server. Alaska Internet service is so sub-par. Posted a link in our facebook page. https://m.facebook.com/AlaskaSpecialtyWoodsInc And here is a direct link to the category in the online store.. https://alaskawoods.com/product-categor ... ent-sitka/ |

I sure wouldn't have expected that these sets with the wild grain, from being cut close to the rootwad, would be as stable as they are. Despite the big humidity fluctuations in our warehouse between the colder dry air of winter, with the added heat from our wood furnace when the RH was down to 35%, to spring, summer and fall when the RH is up to near 80%, and these boards don't move much. And stay flat as can be.. A very unique fiber type in many ways. |
