It's slab sawn but doesn't matter at all

Ditto -- Bob

Does not matter if it was dried properly. Lots of slab cut guitars made these days electric and acoustic, especially in the top tier of tone wood choices.

Plus it actually looks to be Sugar Pine -- which is very stable, used by pattern makers -- second choice behind Honduran Mahogany.

I assume that Colin has his tongue firmly stuck in his cheek. I'm not sure everyone else has.

I suppose that the $145 is for the work that was done on it. Can't imagine they would have to pay for wood like that.

That looks like a piece of #4, and for $145USD! I could fill my truck at the mill with that stuff for half of that!

At first I was gonna say I'm not much of a fan of that look but then after looking at some of the pics that some reviewers posted I changed my mind. I especially like that blue antiqued looking one.

I will say on topic, sort of, that I've tried two different sets of GA pickups and have been very pleased with them.

Absolutely hate it, but not as much as Fender's beat-up "relic" stuff.
It's not the Pine, but the look I don't care for.
Not bashing SM, I love 'em.

Don't mind pine but not crazy about any one of them.

I'm with the guys on paying that much for pine. About $60 per board foot. Granted, the shaping has been done.

And they drilled the pot holes.
I suppose they routed the neck pocket.
And the recesses for the electrics.
Not the cheapest holes in wood going, when you can get a Squier by Fender BulletStrat w/Trem, choice of 6 colors, by Fender for $129.99 delivered to your door from Amazon.

But, hey, you wouldn't have the fun of buying everything else you need and building one yourself.
