I'm stoked.

After many months of scrounging I found a nice load of Sapele 8/4 lumber. I'd characterize it as 1/4th perfectly straight grained quatersawn and the rest is almost straight.

I'm not gloating...I've just been at this a while and the pickings seemed far too slim around here to ever have a contiuous supply. I was getting discouraged with retailers and distributors around here...sorting hours to find far too few usable pieces. This place I found laid out a nice sorting area and then gave me a man to help me sort through it!

I got 200 board feet. Gonna take a while to burn through that. :) I'll take some pics after it's delivered tomorrow.

Sounds like a good find. So where is this jackpot located?

Can't wait for pics!

Nice score !!

I like sapele a lot. I've built three guitars from it, and it works and bends easily, and
the ribbon striped variety is beautiful. I have one good vendor near me, I've gotten
some really good body and neck wood from them.
