The amount of information handled on this site is absolutely mind boggling. I know from experience how difficult it can be to pull all the pieces together in a cohesive site that is still fairly easy to navigate. You have done well in this Filippo. From my person taste as a designer, I have never enjoyed working with the complexities associated with dynamically sizing sites. To me it introduces too many additional variables into what I want for the look of the site. I stick to static sized sites to keep things under my control from the layout viewpoint. Both types of designs can have their advantages - I just prefer to nail down the page width and work within the confines - this probably comes from my history of doing print layout. Nice job Filippo! I'm sure Randy is VERY happy! |

That's a nice presentation. I really like the selection of pics and how they hit on the numerous technical facets involved. When you open up the site you are immediately impressed by details and processes. This immediately suggests competency. As an advertising vehicle...this works very well. Nice work! So....you'll do mine when it's time, right?

The only thing that I would say needs to be adjusted is the "shop order" i think it is called. It would be much better to have the catagories load as a PDF template so that the form can only be filled out and not altered in any way. |

Filippo, Have you seen what is happening with WordPress these days? It is really becoming a great option for web sites (instead of blogs) as its customization is really taking off. I'm finding more and more of my clients liking the ability to do their own day-to-day site maintenance via WP's nice browser-based admin. The document editing functions still could use a little help - but it is truly amazing in what is available as plug-ins. It's becoming a really nice CMS solution for many people as custom "themes" are getting easier to produce instead of having to use stock themes (although there are many nice ones out there also) I also throw my vote in for "less is more" for all web site content. I read a great web usability book, "Don't make me think" by Steve Krug. In it he alludes that viewing a web page is much like viewing a billboard at 75mph on the freeway. You need to be able to take in the information that fast! He says, cut your content in half - and then in half again, and you probably still have too much! Yes, there are situations where one must be allowed to be as verbose as necessary - but those are special circumstances. For me, bullet lists are my friend All the best! |

Well done, Filippo. As with the site we saw Shad debut yesterday, I think you've done an excellent job of creating a look and feel that will appeal to the targeted audience. +1 on WordPress. I'm not a coder or web designer, but those around me who are sing its praises daily. |
