Sweet set at a nice price. Any plans on what you're doing with that Mahogany, Link? How is Cuban different from South American mahoganies?
Filippo
Hey Filippo,
A OM sized instrument. Will be a few builds down the road. The only thing I know about it as a guitar wood is what I have read. I don't have any experience with it. I have always wanted some for furniture. For me it is one of the holy grail woods as far as wood goes. (not necessarily for guitars) I used to read Krenov's accounts of Andaman paduk , Rio rosewood and cuban mahogany. The holy trinity of woods. Cuban mahogany is the real mahogany. I have studied it's history. (they used to burn it for fuel in the sugar plantations !

) So it is kind of romantic stuff in a way.
Plus, My name is Link and I am wood aholic.
Plus, I love that vertical grain and I though this was a nice set. Looks pretty straight.
So now I have some Cuban.
