Has any of you ever sold a guitar that you really wanted to keep?
One that had some special meaning for you.
Rather it be the woods, tone, looks or whatever.

Yeah, I've got one with me on the couch right now, sending it out to its new owner on Monday....not only is it beautiful, it just sings, I just love to sit and play it softly, man does it sound good.....it's a keeper, unfortunately not mine!

Cheers,

I hate it every time I send one away, but most of you make alot more guitars than I do. A first for me right now. I'm working on a left handed guitar. I won't even get to play it before delivering. I don't know if that will be better or worse. :(

Added/Edit The client is local, and a really good player. At least I get to hear him play it.

Every classical guitar I've built has been for someone else, until the one I set up yesterday. Finally, I get to keep one, and maybe play it enough to learn better what they are supposed to sound and feel like in the first place!

Howdy Mike, hope your Christmas was great, and that you are staying warm. When it drops to 25 degrees in Texas, I always wonder how bad it is on you boys up north. brrrrrr

The guitar I just pictured, the Honduran Rw/Adi 13 fretter was a keeper. It developed a thunderous voice 30 minutes after stringing it up. Never had one open up SO fast.
However, it got delievered on the 23rd.

Oh well... like Mark said, we can always build another. But sometimes I wander, can we? Like that one? Will it sound that good? Hope so. The uncertainty does make us want to keep 'em, right?

My third one, a curly narra OM, turned out to be a beautiful and great-sounding guitar. A lot
better than my level of expertise deserved. I really loved to play it. Unfortunately a gal that
lives in our neighborhood, a part time professional guitarist and singer, came over and saw it.
Her husband was back the next day, wanting to buy it for her birthday. I sold it, but the three
I've done since clearly aren't as good. They're getting better, but still don't sound/look like
that third one. So I'll keep missing it for a while more. I've got great hopes for the two I'm
working on now [:Y:]

I am having a different sort of Guitar Withdrawl.... Guitar building withdrawl...

The car was so full I couldn't even fit my bridge blank + bridge blank making tools along for the ride down to the farm.... so I am plotting what to do when I get back...

Once I get the bridge made... I can glue the bridge and get going on Nut and Saddle...

Thanks

John

Your right about no two being alike.Just like no two trees are alike. That's the reason i build them, to hear that next one sing. ;)
