With all of the fun Shane and Christian are having with their generous donations we decided to throw our hat into the ring and also offer up some fine wood for auction to help our buddy John Mayes http://www.mayesguitars.com/ and http://www.bombshellguitars.com/

This auction consists of a fantastic African Blackwood Dalbergia melanoxylon back and side set large enough for a Jumbo or Dreadnought and matching fingerboard and bridge blank. Regularly this combo would sell for about $600.00.

100% of the proceeds of this auction will go straight to John. Many thanks to Lance and Brock for letting us all run these auctions. This auction will run for one week ending Tuesday December 29th at noon CST.

Happy Holidays to everyone here at the OLF!

WilliamS and Stan, thanks so much for getting this auction started! [clap]

Sounds like a great catch Stan. Is it raining down there in your neck of the woods yet? We are expecting 2" to 4" up here over the next 24 hours... of rain that is. May be a good time to get out and throw the line.

Christian and Brock, thanks too fellas! This is a really clean set and large enough to still get a D if you'd choose to remove the sap wood. :o

That is pretty - I'd be dead if I responded. John already got my help elsewhere. Sniff...

A great cause indeed Shane! You all aren't going to let Shane get away with this set for $500 are ya? All proceeds go directly to Mr. Mayes and family and don't forget this set gets free shipping anywhere on this planet. Auction ends in 26 hours and 11 minutes at noon CST.

I made the same mistake, thinking that it ended last Tuesday and I missed a chance. I'll bid $600 now, so I do not forget.

Alright, the winner of this a-Mayes-ing auction is OLFer wbergman (sorry, but I don't know your first name).

Thanks so to all the winners who have helped out John with a kind note and donations in this auction and privately. There is no place like the OLF!

Happy New Year everyone! :D
