... any reason why not? I have used this before to good effect when trimming a solid body to a template, don't see any reason why it wouldn't work for this as well as being slower and safer than a router. Looks like it would be easy to accidentally sand into the sides. |

Are you cutting your binding channels with a router? Because then I cannot really see the point, but if your not doing binding then I cant see why it wouldn't work. |

I've done that many times, works fine. Just hold the sides parallel to the sander and you'll be fine. |

Have never done it this way. We use flush trim router bits registering as high as possible on the side. Think this will work ,but you should be careful to register as high as you can and not put too much pressure into your sides.Work slow and careful,you'll be OK. |

Still not sure whether i am going to use it or just grab the router, but thought i would throw it out for discussion. thanks! adam |

I prefer now to use these to trim up electric bodies to a template then the router method. Had to many accidental tearouts with the template router bits. |

The robo sander is perfect for this task as there is no chance of any tear out. As Jim said, just be sure to hold the sides vertical to the drum as you go and it's all too easy. Cheers Kim |
