Post subject:  Update on CA shrinkage

I thought I should post this in a new topic for ease of locating but is in reference to the previous post on this subject.

As you may remember 2 weeks ago I placed a single drop of thin CA on a sheet of glass and allowed it to cure over night then using a dial indicator measured the height of the cured drop at .039" in reference to the clean glass. A week later I measured again at .037" and at lunch today (2 weeks later) I measured it at .037" The test was kept in 40% rh at 70 degrees F.

Conclusion is that a single drop of Starbond thin CA shrinks back about 5% over a week and appears to shrink no more after two weeks at 40% rh and 70 degrees F. Now of course this is just a single sample test so take it for what it s worth but this is consistent with what I have experienced in the past.

MP,
Do you mind repeating this experiment with a gauge R&R.
10 samples, 3 operators, 3 days ought to cover it. [:Y:]
