Here it is in all its understated elegance. Black and white ebony body, anigre neck stained and painted black, corian peghead overlay to simulate a starry night sky, ebony fingerboard, African rosewood bridge and good old BC sitka. (I don't Colin will find anything here he likes what with all the pearl and sitka) Ebony bindings and of course Craigs artistry on the fingerboard. Tony did the impecabble finish with cat urethane. I finished the neck in nitro. It sounds like a piano with the loud pedal all the way to the floor. Even if the top is Sitka. |

Wow! I mean WOW! that is just incredible, what a wonderful looking guitar the Anigre neck just looks so classy with that outstanding B&W Ebony, it fits in so very well I think that anything else would have made the guitar look brash, excellent choice and beautiful execution. Cheers Kim |

Lovely work, John & co! Hey, do you have a full frontal shot? It would be nice to see those inlays together with the rest of the instrument. |

The veneered block with a sound port is a great idea. I'll have to think about doing that. |

Post subject: | Hey John- |
is there a shot of the leafy sea dragon or do people have to go to Miami to see it? ![]() Thats very cool about the heel block- we need a full front shot John!!!! For here and a whole slew of other reasons. That so is so amazing! keep it away from Bob S.... ![]() Thanks! Craig |

Thanks guys! I appreciate your comments. Brad that neck joint is just a bolt on. There is a mortise and tenon involved, and the FBE bolts down as well so the neck is fully removable. I finished it with nitro which has both merits and demerits. John |

Wow, Well if that's not a beauty, I don't know what is. The veneer on the heel block is a very nice touch! |

Beautiful guitar!!! Wow! How does black/white ebony compared to Macassar? In terms of building and tone? David |

John, it's awful, I mean come on where is all the restraint and subtlety? ![]() That said, it is visually the most stunning steel string guitar we have seen on the forum since CFM was a boy. That back view with the ebony and the black neck is truly inspired. OK, we know that a Kinnaird is going to display workmanship of the highest order, but the detailing , like the veneered headblock, takes this guitar into a totally different class. John as ever I am in complete and total awe of your abilities. As a showcase of your, and Craig's, technical and artistic skills, this guitar has it all. We are not worthy! Colin |

Thanks very much guys. I do appreciate your kind remarks. Hesh, you know that I got the inspiration for that bridge from your work. I had to have something that was, like yours, simple and elegant. I feel good about the direction this design is heading. Colin, high praise indeed considering your tastes . You would be surprised how many times I spoke to myself about this very topic, wondering whether you would ever open another of my posts after seeing this one. |

Wow, bro, you just keep making it harder and harder to follow in my brother's footsteps. Slow down, will ya? It's been said, but I really like the veneered headblock also. Craig, your inlay is--as usual--superb. What an instrument! Steve |

A fantastic looking instrument to be sure... but to give credit where credit is due, the inlay was done by Craig ? and the finish by Tony ? |
