Post subject:  Metal posts on Martin necks? Nut width 12 sting?

I was wondering what those 2 little metal cylinders are on Martin guitar unfinished necks (fretboard side)? Are those for the fretboards, and I assume martin fretboards have corresponding holes? Are they glued in, do they come out?

While Im here, what is the standard Martin 12 string nut width?-, is it 1 7/8 or are there 1 15/16ths around?

Thanks

Martin fret boards have cooresponding holes.
Yes, they pull right out..........1 7/8" is the 12 string nut width.

Those are alignment posts and the fingerboards have the same alignment holes in them. If you dont want them, they can be easily removed with a pair of pliars.

I believe they're also there for locating the parts in the CNCs.
