I got mine a couple of weeks back too and it is great! I've been reading it here and there. It's good to skim around in. I liked the article Ervin wrote about selecting bracewood, and there were others too that I can't think of- does anyone else have any favorite things yet?

I've been looking at getting these Big Red Books lately.

Could someone elaborate on the contents in the books and how they are presented?(all volumes)

Blain I cant comment on the others, but this volume has stories of luthiers, their lives, and some of their builds. They have tricks and tips and loads of pictures of how they do things. It is mainly common folk - everyday luthiers- who are sharing what they know.

Good reading indeed!

It's all the articles published in various GAL journals, bundled in attractive red tomes. Check the GAL website for a sampling of what kinds of articles, content, features each magazine offers, and go from there.
