I took possession of Shredder after it being in Joe's shop for a mere 13 days. I can't say enough about the toughness, depth and clarity of the Poly...and after such a short time after spraying. I just replaced my broken camera last night and these are my first pics of the almost completed guitar. Thanks for looking! |

Looks great, JJ! Alembic-esque, w/ your own style sensibilities thrown in. Noticed the triangle motif on the heel. Nice design work. Steve |

Museum quality JJ! That looks sensational....there sure was a lot of thought that went into all the pieces that make up the whole. A+ for originality and execution! Joe's poly finish works so nicely for this style of guitar. Have you plugged it in, cranked it up and given the windows a good shakin as yet? So when are you going to get a haircut? |

Very nice axe JJ! I find Im seeing alot of the wafer sandwich thing in electric guitars these days,,, at the VILG guitar show there were many such examples, I quite like the trend! I realize that LP and others (and even plywood ones) are essentially sandwich guitars also and have been around for a long time - but the way luthiers are now using exotics in layers as accents in electrics like yours is really cool! Cheers Charlie |

I get to play it tomorrow....... Very cool ax JJ and I like everything about this guitar. When I saw the first picture I said out loud - WOW!!! Joe's poly finish looks superb too but that is to be expected from Joe White and Sunset Finishing. I'll be sending Joe another one too in several weeks. Sensational!!!! |

Thanks, Boys & Girl! I appreciate the kind words! And I'm sure glad that you all havent decided to ostracize those of us who have chosen to explore the electric scene periodically. Hopefully we'll get a separate section one of these days. One thing I'm kind of ashamed to admit is that I haven't plugged it in yet...no amp! I'll do so at the A2 meeting tomorrow and hopefully not be further embarrassed! The design was a joint effort between me and my oldest son, Frank and we're both happy with how it turned out. He's more interested in how those Seymour Duncan Humbuckers will sound and I sure hope they meet his expectations. Unfortunately, he'll now have to wait until spring break from college before he can take possession. I have a 2nd electric which is at Joe's right now and I am looking forward to having that one back home in a few weeks. |

I started a "Explorer" model for my son, almost 20 years ago. Still have the Mahogany body, and the roughed out neck in my shop, somewhere. Maybe, I'll have to work on it again one of these days. I guess, technically, it was my first guitar start. My son probably doesn't care about an Explorer any more, as he'll be 43 next week. He's more into Strats, Teles and copies of those. |

Lance...I'm looking forward to seeing you revert to the old Lance from the '80s and christen it in style. You must show that pic from your hair band days for the new kids on the block...or does anyone else know where that pic might be? |

I also have a pic of Lance when he was in Banjollica too !!!! That Speed Country band that a... few had mentioned on the forum before! Didn't get too much air time because they didn't really fit into any commonly accepted format! I think their catch phrase was "Not really Speed Metal, not really Country - Banjollica!" |

Oh.....My.....Goodness......Billy!!!! Good thing I had the shields up on my computer screen to protect from coffee spray! I can't wait to see Lance at noon today...I'm sure he will be touched by the thought, consideration and kindness you have shown toward his secret passion for rock banjo music. Banjollica, the legend lives on. It just goes to show that nothing is sacred and out of reach of "Billy the Kid". Well done amigo! |
