I have a massive Crescent 8" jointer for sale. It's both larger than I need for a most things, and it's smaller than I need as a complement to my resaw. I've got a couple of other 6" jointers that do the trick for a lot of work here, and I need a 12" jointer to properly prep billets for the resaw, so this machine is an in between size for me.

It is a classic... a beautiful hunk of Golden Era iron and steel with a large direct drive 208 or 480 volt three phase 2 hp motor (that's draft horses, not ponies), parallelogram table movement, spring loaded knife guard, modern round cutterhead (many of these had the hand eating square cutterhead); it's got the works. $800.00, but you've got to pick it up here in Santa Cruz. I can get it onto a truck.

Hi Rick,

I'll spread the word about your jointer around the woodworkers of the San Jose/Santa Clara/Sunnyvale/Los Gatos area if you like. I'm sure someone would be glad to get a nice 8" job for $800.

Cheers,
Dave F.

Thanks. It really is a wonderful machine for the right person and application. The direct drive thing is amazing in how much power it delivers.
