Not sure if this is going to work, but here's a link to a sildeshow on how I make the cuts. I'll put together a pictoral post with descriptions of the steps tomorrow. In a nutshell the jigs/fixtures hinge and hang over the edge of my work table. Load the part with it raised, then swing it down to vertical to make the cut. It's a two cut operation- one with a straight cutter to wast out the bulk of the material and another pass with the DT router. Both cuts are made with a rub collar on the router and the same template. A third step possible with the neck jig is to shape the heel, however since this is a "Jazz Heel" It's not done with this neck. Last pic is from the neck shaping series- round over. Last step is to overlay the pegead (with BeauGuard!) and shape-drill. http://www.charlesfreeborn.com/NeckFit.mov -C PS the music is my friend Woody Mann. He'll be at Miami and will demo for me. |
