Post subject: | "Honeyburst" How To? |
Hello my brothers of the trade! I have a Les Paul from a customer that would like a "Honeyburst" finish applied ( currently just "stained" and lacquered from a spray can!) Anyway, has anyone applied this color and if so what color dye did you mix or use ? I have done many other bursts but all the "easy" colors such as Tabacco-Cherry-orange etc.. but this one I am not sure what colors to mix. Is there such a reference or web site explaining the combinations of colors to produce specific finishes? Thank you!! To all the "Minnesota" guys : we should plan a little "get together" some time? -Rick RjC Guitar Service & Repair |

This book has more burst "formulae" than any other source I have seen: Guitar Finishing Step-By-Step By Dan Erlewine and Don MacRostie • Published by Stewart-MacDonald |
