Second try? (Said with a tremble in his voice....) Aha! It worked! Indian rosewood back/sides, Bearclaw SITKA, Colin, with beaucoups pearl. Thanks for the look, Steve |

Steve, that is downright purdy...nice work partner! Your guitars always look terrific though. Be sure to show us more pictures when you get it strung up! Nice to see you maintaining a high standard of American tradition (no sarcasm directed at you). |

Thanks, guys! Lance, I was hoping you could see this in progress. If so, give me a report back, and urge Tony to get it on down here to Texas! Anthony, I'm nothing if not an American. (Well, to a point...) Thanks again fellas. Here's another shot, showing the side and curly maple binding. Hope you enjoy. Steve |

I'm not going to bite, no I'm definitely not going to bite! OK, my favourite bit is the purple bridge, interesting choice that. Oh and I like the white tiles as well. It's a Kinnaird, of course it's going to be a great guitar, goes with the territory! Now is it Grizzly or Black bear? Colin |

Thanks, fellas. Colin, from the degree of markings, I would guess that this top is the product of a Grizzly. Black Bear Sitka is, for one thing, much rarer as well as being less dramatic. Hesh, thanks mate. I'm really working for that 5th clap. Alain, 'preciate the delicious compliment. Steve |

That fingerboard looks pretty skinny, too, but it goes with the purple tape. |

bit of pearl Bling? O.K..... Next time you need Bling let me know. I'm hoping I see bearclaw top like that "jumping off the wall alive look" from you brother soon.... We'll see... You guys have this "eye candy gene" between the two of you. Is it from your mother's or father's side?? Craig L |

Clinton, thanks mucho! Douglas, and note the pinless bridge! Dave, very much appreciated. Craig, you know you have another Collabo project coming your way, right? Now as for your question--it's a good one. I dunno where that "eye candy gene" came from. However, right beside my desk is my maternal grandfather's guitar, which is fairly ornate. Maybe we come by it from Mom's side.... Thanks for your kind words guys. Hopefully we can show finished pix soon. Steve |

MMMM...That be real purty bro. I like the standard Indian, sitka, maple binding theme. It is, as we have said before, under used and under loved. KBE |

Steve, Don't worry about us English fuddy duddies - just think of it as casting pearl before swine I really love that bearclaw - now if I had some sitka like that it would help me over my sitkaphobia. Great craftsmanship as always. |

Hey bro, glad you made it home. Thanks for the positive stroke, and I'm with you about the "tried 'n true". There's just something about an EIR box that I find visually satisfying. Of course, they don't sound too shabby, either. Dave, I'm glad you chimed in, and I appreciate the way you master your English reserve. By the way, don't you have a Sitka top lying around the shop begging to be used? Mail it to Colin, and see what he says.... Steve |
