Found these today while scanning ebay. They have some nice work by a couple of our sponsors.Very nice but out of my league price wise.http://cgi.ebay.com/Pre-CITES-Brazilian-Rosewood-Classical-Guitar_W0QQitemZ170189169501QQihZ007QQcategoryZ2385QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemhttp://cgi.ebay.com/Highly-Distressed-High-Figure-Bubinga-Classical-Guitar_W0QQitemZ170189170921QQihZ007QQcategoryZ2385QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemhttp://cgi.ebay.com/Green-Classical-Guitar-of-FSC-Certified-Narra_W0QQitemZ170189173006QQihZ007QQcategoryZ2385QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

That peghead face is pretty bizarre. I have to say, I am just put off by anyone who sticks their PhD in my face with the Doctor this or the Doctor that unless it's in a medical facility or on the campus of a university...most of which I try to stay away from. The use of a title like that in this context is an attempt at pulling of rank with a false sense of superiority laid on thick. There's the implication that it is a great guitar because it was built by a person of superior intelligence to us mere termite wood chippers... The Duck's Breath Mystery Theatre had a great comedy radio bit, "Ask Dr. Science" with a tag line, "He has a degree in science, and he knows more than you do..." all spoken in syrupy dulcet tones with a slight English accent. |

Just from the photographs, I see all sorts of build and subsequent wood movement problems with these guitars....and I'm a complete newbie! I can't take your bet Howard, but I'll bet with you! Dave F. |

C'mon, guys. You just can't buy this kind of craftsmanship. I think y'all are just jealous. $10K? Sure, I'll take two! |

I think that photo shows my proprietary "I really loused up my purfling ledge and now they don't line up" system that I developed on my second build. I think I'll ask for my licensing fee from him. -j. |

If you louse up your pfurling/binding ledges, can't you just glue in a new piece of wood and start over? It seems like it would be an easy and non-detectable repair to me.... For 1% of a million bucks, I'd expect a LOT more guitar than this.... Dave F. |

True enough Dave, but it also looks like he's infringing on my "Wavy, out-of-round, and Burned" soundhole cutting technique. I haven't used it on any guitars yet, but if that technique can help to fetch 10k on a guitar, then I should start filing my patent papers immediately. |

Is that bridge glued before being sprayed! You can see a fillet in the corner and the bridge looks a little to shiny! And, that's a .020in mismatch in the purfling at the bottom joint! And he's made the slots so wide the screw holes have broken through! 10K... No way! This Dr. Decker guy started Rainsong Guitars. I've only heard one on TV and I was not just unimpressed but the sound was even more obnoxious than the abomovations. Heck! I have Hesh's credit card number I'll bid on it! SSL security HA! What a joke! |

one must admit he does an almost artistic job of wrapping the strings around the bridge and the pegs ! Jody |

Geeze, I'm dissapointed in y'all.... You notice the cosmetics, yet you've all missed the broken bridge, and the severely warped top in my cropped photo. Look past the cosmetics when viewing stuff.... |

I hope my first turns out better than this one. I don't pretend that it'll be perfect, but geez, I don't think I could accept those tolerances. |

Mario, I noticed the warped top, but not the broken bridge. The finish looks really thick to me too. I think too thick for a classical. I can't say anything to the cosmetic stuff as I couldn't do any better at this point in my skills. I reserve judgment on that for when I can...but a warped top for $10k, yikes! |

Y'know, folks, I hadn't taken a close look at any photos when I posted that it wouldn't get bid at $10K. That was just based on seeing how lots of fine handmade guitars by some well-known makers get no bids on Ebay. I won't take issue with the criticisms here (except to note that gluing the bridge before finishing and finishing over the bridge is common on classicals). But this piling on is getting a bit unseemly, and I'm regretting having posted anything on this thread. Time to stop it, IMO. |

That said, 50's Les Pauls and Strats get posted on there all the time, legit ones. It's more of a "heads-up" or cheap advert than anything else. |

I didnt originally post this to criticize the maker. I just noticed the nice inlays made by a couple of our sponsors. I did notice these inlays posted here in the past, but I thought people might like to see where they went. I dont think the craftsmanship of this guitar maker reflects on the quality of our sponers at all. I agree with Mr. Klepper. Maybe I should have looked closer at all the pictures before I posted. I probably wouldnt have posted this if I had. |
