Have a look at the search features. You can search by topic and author together (Alan Carruth and glitter, for example) and get just that subject by that author. Results can be shown as posts with the first 200 or whatever characters or just topics, plus it's really fast. All hail PHPBB!! Great choice, Brock and Lance!

Nice pic upload too.

And my old PMs are still there. Thought we'd lose those, but there they are.

I just tried the search function and was really impressed too. Everything is sooooo much faster on this new software. Kinda makes me giddy.

Yes, I noticed the same thing. I had saved everything worth saving before the move, so no beg deal for me, but I expected everything to be gone.

Yes, I really like the new look, not to mention the speed. Whoa, look out!

Where is the search? Is it not available to guests? Man, I cant see anything when I log in, and I cant search as a guest. I'm starting to get withdrawal shakes... :x

I must say, I love the speed at which things are happening! The response is lightening fast compared to the previous board.

Well done and much appreciated!

As usual, I'm missing something here.
Suppose I want a list of all the topics that Alan Carruth has started.
:?:
Put *carruth in the author box (unless you know the exact username you have to use the wildcard-this is standard)
Search within : First Post of Topics
Display as : Topics
Hit the Search button

I don't think you're missing anything here. I can't seem to make it work either. I get all of his posts whether he started topic or not. Same with all the options under Search Within. Return First (number of characters) also has no effect

Hey Man, I had the same problem. Couldn't do anything but log on as a guest. I could'nt find how to Email or PM Lance or Brock to see how to fix it. I just took the easy way out and re-registered. If you have a gazillion posts you probably won't want to do dat.

Is there anyway we can save you? Like send Lance a PM telling him your sufferings?

Chuck

I though about re-registering, but didnt think that was a great idea if everyone started doing this. It seems that would make a mess for the admins to have all sorts of people with two accounts. They have enough work to do right now. Plus I just hit Cocobolo, not that the rating are in the new system. Can I get my guest post numbers added to by total? :?

I dont think its me and I may have missed a discussion in another thread, but somethings not right with search. I tryed searching for "koa" in all forums and nothing. I search for "cocobolo" and get a response. I try searching for "cocobolo" in title only, nothing. Search for "pic" gets nothing.
