Could you please make the photo files a bit larger? I can't see any detail...

Well, for an old computer challenged luthier, I'm lucky to just get them uploaded!
Now you want them shrunk to postage stamp size, too???

Way to Go Hank, that's Cooler than a bag of Ice Cubes!

I saw the earlier post too, but it left me scratching my head. This guitar may be too big to fit in the overhead bin?

Just kidding, now we need to see it in action, with a pretty model and a hot licks player! Thanks for sharing.

Not in the new Airbus behemoth jet!

Well, they couldn't afford the high levels of pulchritude often displayed at NAMM, so you'll just have to settle for Harvey, Lance McCollum, Michael Ferrucci and some unnamed other ugly old guys manning the booth. Fortunately, I'm staying home!
But Buster B. Jones and/or Tom Bresh may be there to shred the fingerboard.

I know good nature banter when I see it. We've been friends too long to have to rag on each other at this stage of life.
Hey...watch out for that bronchial stuff. It's what laid me low, for more than a year, back in 2005. Also the reason I've cut back my shop time now. Despite all the precautions we may take, there are still vile fumes/wood dusts/adhesives that creep about our shops just waiting to attack our living organs.
Do take care, my friend, and enjoy the peace and quiet AWAY from NAMM!

There you go Hank, looks like it will fit in the overhead bin after all. Can we see the case it fits in? Please!

BTW, folks, I'm serious about liking what my "gold country" luthier friends are doing... We're talking world class stuff from the likes of Hank (who I'm very glad could not stay away from lutherie...), Harvey Leach (whose inlay I was happy to help feature at the NAMM Museum), Lance (who as at least as feisty as I am!), Renee Karnes (whose work you all should get hip to...), and I believe I have to include John How (whose ladder braced guitars sounded like the best antidote to this century I heard at H'burg...).

True and sincere appreciation from the North Central Coast.

No problemo, but this thread was started by Hank, a guy who had to back off of guitar making for a while due to health issues, but who just couldn't stay away. Kudos to Hank and his cohorts up 'round Grass Valley and Gold Country. No disrespect to anyone else, but I was not happy when Hank had to quit lutherie for a while, and I'm glad to see him back...

My last internet post of the night before we head for NAMM in the morning.

Rick - I'll grab a Voyage-Air and come find you. They look just like backpacks - no one realizes I'm packing a guitar!

I'm actually working with Voyage-Air. I've been doing some of the jigs and all the finish on the guitar necks and the last two days have been spent doing setup. Today alone I leveled and dressed 12 guitars and installed pickups in five of them. Can you say "I'm Tired?"

It is really exciting to be part of this venture. Wish us all luck at NAMM and please come by and see us if you are there, too.

I'll report back when we're home.

Lance

Nope. I'm staying home and letting the "young bucks" snort and rut!

I'm an old fart who will be weaving his way down the rows looking for placing to sit down.  Just can't miss a NAMM but this may be one of my last, getting a bit tired of all the walking.
Great photo of the corkscrew at Laguna.  I've been Race Operations director there for years, hope to see you if you get down for a race.
Can always get you tickets if you need.
Bruce

I'm old, too, Bruce. Just got the first Soc Sec check last Wednesday!
Were you there at Laguna in the old days, before all the infield was added and the front "straights" eliminated? I've raced both configurations and really liked the old one. I could come out of (then) Turn 9, get up into top gear by start/finish and just plant my foot all the way around to the bridge starting uphill Probably the fastest I ever got the Elite up to. Somebody "radared" it there and had me at 128 mph. Not bad for a 1216cc motor at 8,000 rpms!

And I may just take you up on that "ticket offer" someday. Buy you lunch and a beer and we can tell stories and lies about our racing careers! ;) ;)
