Daniel: that is very clean work! I agree the first one looks overbraced. The second one looks just right: light but not ridiculous. [clap]

Dennis: Good point about thick top and light braces vs thin top and heavy braces. Pushing the extremes is a good way to demonstrate these sorts of effects. Very cool experiment. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I'm thinking you could push it to .060" with rosewood though. beehive I did a similar thing once years back, but with about .075 cedar top, and despite some telegraphing, it worked fine. The bracing was less lattice and more like a Falcate/Kasha hybrid.

I've decided I tend to prefer moderate thickness top and wimpier bracing over the converse, but it depends...
