Yes, the topic line is correct. This is about a guitar with a neck that spins. It's an entertaining video and quite the engineering feat. Check it out: https://youtu.be/p2kJMPfFOX8?si=EYm8or_Z4KRIsH9u

Reminds me of the General Electric GAU-8/A Avenger Gattling gun that we used to make when I had a real job.

The designer/creator is a pleasure to listen to and watch because I found him intellectually honest. He knows what he has warts and all and I think this was more a "can I do this" pursuit than a better mouse trap pursuit.

I didn't catch what it weighs did he say?

Also ZZ Top would love it :)

I can't recall him him mentioning the weight. He was indeed entertaining, and, he says in response to some of the comments that entertainment was main point of making the guitar and video. My favourite line comes at 9:23 when he declares the aluminum pipe is "going to be stiffer than other materials that are less stiff."

That was pretty funny.

Interesting creation.
If his idea was combined with that of Magic Alex's idea, a more useable and easily constructed instrument might be possible. Putting all the components on a "neck beam" attached to a guitar body and being able to flip from one side to the other could possibly allow you to build a lighter weight "double neck guitar" with a single neck. The blue tooth connectivity, and making it so flipping the neck would turn off the side not played (to avoid unwanted random sounds) may actually make something a player might find useful.

Fun to watch them play with these ideas. Would be tough to play bar chords with strings on both sides of the neck. I think a double neck would be a more useful solution.

That was an absolute hoot, and entirely thought provoking, not so much for guitar but for the accidental discoveries this kind of work will spawn. Milking spider for guitar strings was the next video....hard pass
