If you end up going the 14” route the woodslicer blades from Highland Woodworking have been good to me. It’s a 3/4” blade, doesn’t last as long as the wood master or laguna blade, and is not something that can be sharpened, but is a good middle ground solution.

I tried to show the surface it leaves in the pics. Mind you this is paulownia being cut for lining, but I’ve cut a number of back and side sets (less than 20) and it behaves.

+1 for Woodslicer. Smooth finish and the best part is the kerf is only .040"ish (they claim . 031") for all the wood misers out there. They do get dull rather quickly, but for $35 you can do a fair amount of resawing.

Having the ability to do some resawing, you can not only find species that are unavailable as sets but you can also utilize pieces too small for a typical guitar set. Especially if you want to make 3/4 piece backs/tops, head plates etc
