Hey snowmansnow how’s the build coming along? I’m looking to do something similar and just ordered an L-0 plan from LMI and KMG. How far have you gotten?

Btw Guild if American Luthiers also has the plan.

Make sure you get the plan you think you’re getting the L-0 body changed considerably after 1928

Snowmansnow, great job. (I recall seeing some pics of your project in another thread!) The shape is pretty cool, I agree.

Do you get a good amount of low end with the wide 4.1" body width?

Ya, I see that the L-0 and L-1 evolution is pretty complicated but the key thing for me is the big round lower bout shape that i'm after!

To me the sound is reasonably balanced, BUT the body IS small so it’s not going to be a big booming dred feel.

I did like it a lot though! So much I’m already building another one (for myself this time).

Oh.... I also choose to x brace it instead of H brace. The size works out so that a 90deg x is nearly just right :/

Did you document the x bracing of your build in another thread? I want to do the same and would love to see how it goes as this first time build that I’m starting is all new... Got my plans today, cut them out, gonna make acrylic shape and wood mold and go from there...
