Has anyone done a reset on one of these? Is it just a mortise and Tenon? Bolt on? Glued extension?

Never done one, but out of curiosity I found this if it's of interest https://umgf.com/martin-s-new-neck-joint-t141495.html
Looks like they're bolt-on, one bolt.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Thanks Colin! Looks like a reset might be sort of sketchy. I forgot that John H used to go by Tippie and maybe he will chime in. I wonder if there is a standard consensus on doing these nowadays...
