Hi,

Just finished an acoustic build and put the strings on today, how long does it take to settle in as I am considering taking it to a pro tech I know for a proper set up. I am never that happy with my own set ups
Should he do the initial set up? Or should I string it and leave it settle then take it to him?
Cheers

Before you take it to someone else, give it a chance to settle in. Consider what might the setup need, then do it. That's the best way to learn and get better...

Give it at least 48 hours to realize that is no longer a tree, but a musical instrument.

Yes. Definately let it settle in for a week.

Make sure the neck set, nut action, fretwork, and bridge placement/intonation are nominally in the right ballpark - at least in the range expected out of factory guitars.
