Has anyone tried the resp-o-rator? Opinions?

I'll be sticking with my 3M.

I would give that a pass, I don't like the idea of the nose clip.

looks like a torture device. It would drive me crazy having to be in and out through my mouth. When I really need it I use a forced air face mask Otherwise just a regular mask.

I can see if you have a beard that would compromise the seal of a mask. The ones I really like.

Contrary to what has been said, I'm not a mouth breather. I'll stick with the usual stuff.

A lesson from my Triton. They quit making it and replacement filters are not available. So, I guess 3M is more likely to stay in business.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Why not run a garden hose all the way out the shop window!?

Well I AM a mouth-breather (my nose allows just enough air flow to smell but not enough to keep me alive) and even I would prefer a mask to this. The reason is that I wouldn't want to have to keep my lips sealed around the mouthpiece if I didn't have to, that seems like my lips/cheeks would get tired and I'd be a drooley mess.

One of the reasons I quit my last cabinet shop job was the time I had to spend with a mask on. May as well work in a mine and get the hazard pay.
Money spent on clean shop air is easily recouped in reduced healthcare costs too.

Dave, that is exactly what I am using. I hate being in a mask! And I have never found one that really fits my face, doesn't push my glasses into my eyebrows, or fogs them. I think I have tried every single one out there. Oh well, just thought I would ask. Guess I got my answer. Thanks all.

Seems you have the wrong size and/or it is not adjusted properly -- I use the 3M with the particle filters for sanding mainly because it prevents fogging my glasses.
