Shane, really sorry to hear about your accident and hope you mend quickly and completely. And also, thanks for sharing your misfortune with us so that we will all remember to give those tools the respect they deserve. Take care and keep us updated on your progress.

Shane is there any update on the status of your pinky? I really hope all is okay and that you'll have full use of all your digits real soon.

Hey Anthony,

I just got back from having the dressings changed. The little finger looks pretty good, relatively speaking! I had my wife take pictures, again to remind myself, but I don't think I will post them. The underside of little finger is pretty mangled but the colour looks pretty good and it continues to bleed out the tip so that means that some oxygen is likely still getting to the tissues! The stitches are supposed to be removed early next week. I don't know how they will even find them on the pinky though!

Thanks again everyone!

Shane

Thanks for sharing this. It can be embarassing to admit, but it sure is a reminder to all of us to take nothing for granted (including experience). Much appreciated

We're thinking of you and praying for you. Heal quickly!

Wow Shane, Wishing you a quick and painless recovery.
If it is possible to tap into all the great healing energy you should be getting from all who are wishing you well, you should be fine in no time.
On another note, I’ve been recently tuning a lutz top I received form you some time ago for my latest build and am inspired once again by its responsiveness and tone. Thank you for providing us with the materials necessary to make wood sing.
Take your time and keep us updated on your recovery.

Wade

Speedy recovery and good luck. Fatigue and in-attention... been there but lucky. I make it a habit to shut my shop down if i feel lack of concentration or if i find myself making little errors etc. Good reminder for all of us.

I have a similar blade for my saw, It's scary sharp! Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Thanks for the reminder here Shane. Glad to hear that Malcolm is doing OK and that things did not turn out any worst than what they did for you. Let's hope the little finger can linger and that the recovery is both complete and speedy.

Cheers

Kim
