Hi all. Here is the patriot piece..
There is a buoy that is the only one like it with the American flag marking where Francis Scott Key was held captive in the Chesapeake Bay and wrote the Stars and Stripes during the war.

The striper is the Maryland state fish so it only goes to say this piece has plenty of tie-ins.
This is also a mainly shell piece, with a little corian here and there.

In the light this things reflects all over because I set up the reversed back pearl pieces to hit at different angles. Different fin pieces, etc.. The bottom pic show a different lighting view.
Thanks for looking! A mated pair of Wood ducks in the grass are up next.. They are so beautiful.
My new website should be going up soon. Stay posted.

I am excited about the ducks. I always wanted to do a wood duck scene as they are perfect inlay subjects. I need to get out and enlarge my art!
See ya soon.
Craig

Stunning work Craig! I am curious, you have shared a number of your projects with the forum and each time I see a piece and marvel at it, I wonder how long it takes you to pull these together from start to finish?

incredable work Craig! It amazes me how many pieces go into making something like one of those fish heads. Even some of the dots on the fish have more than one piece, and the fins are multipieced. There is a lot of very good work tied up in that inlay.

This inlay is about 111 separate pieces, then the engraving makes it looks like about 20 more.
From the development art to final posting of the final images exclusively here, (which means it's DONE  ) it could take 3-7 weeks depending on how revved up I get about it. complication, overall size.. Design for me takes the longest time.
if the design and drawing isn't the best possible, that means the inlay isn't as well...

duh

Craig.
